Sati Durga is a name. Daksha invited all the gods to his yagya, but did not invite Shiva and Sati. Enraged by this, he destroyed his father's sacrifice in the form of Ugrachandi to counter the humiliation. The number of his hands is considered to be 18. In the month of Ashwin, on the ninth day of Krishna Paksha, devotees especially worship Ugrachandi.
