Who is Hanuman ji :-

Hanuman (Sanskrit: Hanuman, also Anjaneya and Maruthi) is one of the most popular concepts of devotion to the Supreme Lord (devotion to God in Hinduism) and one of the most important figures in the Indian epic Ramayana. He is considered the most powerful and intelligent of all the Rudravatars of Lord Shiva.[1] According to the Ramayana, he is very dear to Janaki. Bajrangbali is also among the seven sages who are blessed with immortality on this earth. Hanuman ji incarnated to help Lord Rama. There are innumerable tales of Hanuman ji's might. The way he made Sugriva's friendship with Rama and then killed the Asuras with the help of the monkeys, is very famous.

According to the accurate calculations of astrologers, Hanuman ji was born 58 thousand 112 years ago in the last phase of Tretayuga on Chaitra Purnima on Tuesday in the sum of Chitra Nakshatra and Aries ascendant at 6.03 am in India. He was born in a cave in the small hill village of K.K.

He is known as Bajrangbali because his body is like a thunderbolt. He is known as the son of the wind. Vayu or Pawan (the wind god) played an important role in the upbringing of Hanuman.

Marut (Sanskrit: Marut) means wind. Nandan means son. According to Hindu mythology, Hanuman is "Maruti" meaning "Marut-Nandan" (son of wind).

Form of Hanuman:-

According to the Hindu epic Ramayana, Hanuman is depicted as a very strong man with the face of a monkey. Their body is very muscular and strong. The thread hangs on his shoulder. Hanuman ji is shown with an exposed body wearing only a nappy. He is shown wearing a golden crown on his head and gold ornaments on his body. He has a long tail like that of an ape. Their main weapon is considered to be the mace.

The relation between Hanuman and Goddess Kali is mentioned in Kritivasi Ramayana. Their meeting takes place in the legend of Mahiravan in Yudhishthira of Ramayana. Mahiravan was a trusted friend/brother of Ravana. After his son, Meghnath was killed, Ravana enlisted the help of Mahiravana, the king of Patalloka, to kill Rama and Lakshmana.

One night, Mahavira, using his illusion, took the form of Vibhishana and entered Rama's camp. There he cast the nindra mantra on the monkey army, kidnapped Rama and Lakshmana and took them to Hades. He was a staunch devotee of the goddess and Ravana convinced him to sacrifice the brave fighters of Ayodhya to the goddess, to which Mahiravan agreed. Hanuman, after understanding the path from Vibhishana to Hades, hurried to save his lord.

During his journey, he met Makardhwaja, who claimed to be the son of Hanuman, born from his sweat which was eaten by a Makara (crocodile). Hanuman defeated her and tied her up and went inside the palace. There he met Chandrasen who explained the sacrifice and how to kill Ahiravan. Hanuman then reduced the size of the bee and moved towards the huge idol of Maha-Kali.

He asked him to save Rama, and the fierce Mother Goddess took Hanuman's place while he slipped down. When Mahavira asked the prince-sages to bow down, they refused because they were of royal lineage and did not know how to bow down. So just as Mahiravan was about to show him how to bow down, Hanuman took his five-faced form (with the head of Garuda, Narasimha, Varaha, Hayagriva and himself).

Each head represents a particular symbol. Hanuman courage and strength, Narasimha fearlessness, Garuda. magical skills and serpent bite, Varaha health and power to exorcise and conquer enemies), blew 5 oil lamps in 5 directions and beheaded Mahiravan, killing him. Later he carried Sri Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulders and when he flew out of Sri Rama he saw Makardhwaja tied to his tail. He immediately ordered Hanuman to make him the king of Hades.

The story of Ahiravan finds its place in the Ramayanas of the East. It can be found in the Bengali version of the Ramayana written by Kritibash. The passage that talks about this event is known as 'Mahirabonarpala'. It is also believed that after being pleased with Hanuman, Goddess Kali blessed him to be her door-pal or gatekeeper and hence Bhairav and Hanuman are found on either side of the entrance of the temple of the goddess.

Ramayana:-

The fifth book of the Ramayana, Sunderkand, focuses on Hanuman. Hanuman meets Rama in the last year of his 14-year exile after Sita was kidnapped by the demon king Ravana. Along with his brother Lakshmana, Rama is searching for his wife Sita. This and the related Rama Kathas are the most comprehensive stories about Hanuman.

Several versions of the Ramayana exist within India. They represent the avatars of Hanuman, Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Ravana. The characters and their descriptions vary, in some cases quite significant.

Mahabharata:-

The Mahabharata is another major epic in which Hanuman is briefly mentioned. In Book 3, Vana Parva of the Mahabharata, he is presented as the half-elder brother of Bhimsen, who accidentally meets him while on his way to Mount Kailash. Bhima, a man of extraordinary strength, is unable to move Hanuman's tail, forcing him to realize and accept Hanuman's strength. This story is related to the ancient chronology of Hanuman character. It is also a part of artifacts and reliefs such as the Vijayanagara ruins.
